Vote for Vikas: CM Saha Reads “New Tripura” in Tribal Poll Verdict

AGARTALA: Chief Minister Manik Saha has described the outcome of the TTAADC Village Committee elections as a sign of a new Tripura, saying the result reflects public support for development and unity among communities.

Reacting to the verdict, the Chief Minister said the mandate shows that voters in the tribal areas want progress and peaceful coexistence. He said the outcome points to a state where people from different communities stand together for a shared future.

The Tipra Motha Party has won 2,803 of the 3,470 seats declared so far, a dominant majority in the grassroots bodies of the tribal areas. The result is being viewed as a major political development in Tripura’s tribal regions.

Village Committees are the lowest tier of governance in the autonomous district council. They handle local administration and the rollout of development schemes in tribal villages, which made the elections a closely watched measure of public sentiment at the grassroots.
