Tripura Exports Organic Paddy to Europe for the First Time, Minister Flags Off Consignment

Agartala : Tripura achieved a significant milestone on Wednesday as four varieties of organic paddy were exported from the state to Europe for the first time, marking the state’s debut in international paddy exports.

A ceremony was organised at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala to mark the occasion, with Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath attending as chief guest, along with senior officials of the Agriculture Department.

The Minister, along with other dignitaries present, flagged off four vehicles carrying the export-bound paddy by waving a green flag, officially launching the consignment’s journey abroad.

An exhibition was organised alongside the event, which the Minister toured, showcasing the state’s organic farming produce. Organic farmers from various parts of Tripura attended the programme to witness the historic export initiative.

The development is being seen as a boost for the state’s organic farming sector, opening new avenues for Tripura’s agricultural produce in international markets.
