Torch of Service: Tripura Gears Up for Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra Across 8 Districts

AGARTALA: Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has reviewed preparations for the Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra and the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which will be held across all 8 districts of Tripura on October 7.

The programmes are part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, held from September 17 to October 17 to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service as Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister. The Kalash Yatra will carry the “Seva Jyoti” flame through rallies on foot, cycles and bikes, passing through 1,193 villages and 21 towns, with youth participation to be ensured.

Mr Chowdhury and MLA Abhishek Debroy chaired a meeting with officials at the Secretariat and held virtual discussions with the District Magistrates of all 8 districts, issuing instructions for the smooth conduct of the programme. He said the yatra aims to reaffirm a strong commitment to service. It will conclude before 11 am, after which the Prime Minister’s address will be broadcast live. He appealed to all to cooperate in making the yatra a success.
