TELIAMURA: A mobile phone shop in Teliamura Bazar was allegedly burgled in the early hours of Tuesday, with thieves reportedly breaking the shop’s lock and making off with several expensive handsets, according to sources.
The incident occurred at Bhandari Mobiles, reportedly owned by Chittaranjan Bhandari, who was said to be shocked upon discovering the break-in. The thieves allegedly entered after forcing the lock and fled with multiple mobile phones before being noticed.
The theft has reportedly triggered concern among traders over security arrangements in the market area, with questions being raised about how the culprits managed to breach the shop undetected during the night.
Police reached the spot after being alerted and have reportedly begun a preliminary investigation, examining the extent of losses and the exact number of phones stolen. Sources said nearby CCTV footage and local leads are being examined as part of the probe.
