BISHALGARH: Tension gripped the Bishalgarh Bypass area on Saturday following allegations that persons out on bail in a snatching case were forcibly collecting donations and harassing local residents in connection with Shani Puja celebrations at the area’s Shani temple.
According to local residents, women and girls were allegedly threatened and subjected to harassment by the accused individuals if they refused to pay the demanded donation amount, creating an atmosphere of fear in the locality.
Residents alleged that the same individuals had previously been arrested in connection with a snatching case and were currently out on bail, raising concerns over their continued alleged involvement in intimidation and extortion-related activities in the area.
The incident has triggered widespread anger among locals, who have called for police intervention to prevent further harassment and ensure safety, particularly of women, in the area.
