SFI Rallies in Agartala, Chowdhury Leads CPI(M) Show of Strength Over Pradhan’s Exit

AGARTALA: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) organised a march rally here in support of the students’ movement’s victory following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The rally, held to mark solidarity with the student agitation at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, saw participation from senior CPI(M) leadership. Leader of the Opposition and CPI(M) state secretary Jiten Chowdhury, along with the SFI state secretary and other party leaders, were present at the event.

The march was organised to celebrate what CPI(M) and SFI leaders described as a victory for the sustained student agitation that had been demanding accountability and action over issues in the education system, culminating in Pradhan’s resignation.

Party leaders reportedly used the occasion to reaffirm SFI’s continued mobilisation of students across the state on education-related issues, positioning the development as validation of the student movement’s demands.

Details regarding the specific route of the rally, the number of participants, and any formal statements or slogans raised during the event were not immediately available.

The rally comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with multiple parties, including the Congress, also organising similar demonstrations in support of the student movement following Pradhan’s resignation.
