AGARTALA: A stolen scooty was recovered within two hours of the theft being reported, with police apprehending two accused, East Police Station said on Thursday.
The scooty was allegedly stolen from the foot of the Netaji statue at Maharajganj Bazar on Thursday. The owner, Bimal Poddar, lodged a complaint at Maharajganj outpost. Acting swiftly on the complaint, East Police Station launched an investigation and, within two hours, apprehended two accused from the R.K. Nagar area and recovered the vehicle.
In a separate operation, police detained two persons and seized 230 bottles of foreign liquor, with an estimated market value of around Rs 1 lakh. Three water motors stolen from the Chandrapur area were also recovered during the crackdown.
East Police Station OC Krishnadhan Sarkar said all four detained persons would be produced before the court on Thursday.
