AGARTALA: The government will provide an additional Rs 10 lakh to each ward of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) to complete unfinished civic works before Durga Puja, it was announced at a meeting at the AMC.
The announcement comes as the city prepares for its biggest festival. Agartala hosts the largest number of Durga Pujas in the state, with over 800 organised within the AMC area. Chief Minister Manik Saha had earlier assured that ongoing Smart City projects and road repairs in the capital would be completed before the Puja.
The meeting was attended by councillors and officials.
