AGARTALA: Elections to the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and 20 other urban local bodies in Tripura are expected to be held in late November 2026, with preparations now underway.
The State Election Commission has begun groundwork for the civic polls. As part of the process, the final voter list is scheduled to be published on 15 October.
The final electoral roll is a key step before any election, as it determines who is eligible to cast a vote on polling day. Its publication will mark one of the first major milestones in the run-up to the urban body elections.
The AMC, which administers the state capital, is among the 21 civic bodies headed to the polls. Since the election dates are only “expected” at this stage, the schedule remains tentative until it is formally announced by the Commission.
