Agartala:More than 1,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) received house approval letters on Sunday in the Kathaltali and Malaynagar Gram Panchayat areas under the 18-Sooryamaninagar Assembly Constituency.
Area MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Ramprasad Paul, distributed approval letters to nearly 670 beneficiaries in Kathaltali and handed over housing documents to another 364 beneficiaries in Malaynagar. The event drew considerable enthusiasm among recipients.
Speaking on the occasion, Paul alleged that during the previous Left government, housing benefits were allegedly restricted to party loyalists and relatives, while genuine beneficiaries were left out. He claimed the current government was ensuring transparent delivery of benefits to actual recipients and urged residents to remain vigilant against attempts by “certain miscreants” to create unrest in the area.
Paul concluded by extending his greetings to all PMAY beneficiaries and wishing them well for their new homes.
