Officers’ Body Demands Public Apology from Jitendra Chowdhury Over “Idiot” Remark

AGARTALA: The All India Services Association, Tripura Chapter, has strongly condemned Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury for allegedly referring to an IPS officer as an “idiot,” demanding that he immediately withdraw the remark and issue a public apology.

In a statement, the association termed the comment inappropriate and disrespectful towards a serving officer, calling for accountability from the opposition leader.

The identity of the officer involved and the specific context in which the remark was allegedly made have not been detailed in the association’s statement.

The demand has added to the ongoing friction between political leadership and bureaucratic bodies in the state, with the association asserting that such remarks undermine the dignity of civil service officers.
