The finger of suspicion has been pointed at Sagar Dev, son of Bishalgarh Municipal Council councillor Ratan Dev, along with three others identified as Samarjit Pal, Surajit Poddar and Ricky. A case has been registered at Bishalgarh police station in connection with the incident.

The victims, speaking to the media, appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene and restore law and order in Bishalgarh, citing repeated incidents of robbery and intimidation in the area.

Local sources allege that all the accused are closely associated with the ruling party and are members of a club located near the old petrol pump in Bishalgarh. Residents claim the group has long invoked the club’s name to spread fear and exert influence in the locality, though these allegations remain unverified.

Police said investigations are underway, and further action will depend on the outcome of the probe.
