Agartala: The Tripura state government has undertaken a month-long series of programmes to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha outlined the details of the programme at a press conference at Agartala Secretariat on Monday.
The Chief Minister said various social and public welfare programmes will be held across the state from September 17 to October 17, with public participation, centred around the Prime Minister’s birthday.
The programmes include blood donation camps, health camps, “Boshe Anko” (sit-and-draw) competitions, and lamp-lighting ceremonies, among other social and welfare initiatives, to be held in phases across the state’s districts and areas, the Chief Minister said.
He said the initiatives go beyond mere formality, with social programmes for public welfare taken up specifically to mark the occasion — particularly efforts to stand by the people through blood donation and health camps.
The birthday will also be celebrated through sit-and-draw competitions involving children and adolescents, and lamp-lighting programmes at various locations. These programmes will continue across the state over the course of the month.
At the press conference, the Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to participate in all these programmes, stating that one of the key aims of the initiative is to build greater awareness and public engagement through social and welfare activities marking the Prime Minister’s birthday.
