AGARTALA: Sri Sri Baba Lokenath Sevashram Sangstha, Banamalipur, on Tuesday continued its annual tradition of distributing textbooks among meritorious and financially disadvantaged Class XI students from 30 schools affiliated with TBSE and CBSE boards.
A total of 91 students benefited from the initiative, comprising 20 from the Science stream, 3 from Commerce, and 68 from the Arts stream.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder attended the book distribution ceremony as a special guest, along with Women’s College Principal Sanchita Riang and Corporator Ratna Dutta, Chairman of the Central Zone.
The programme was presided over by Sanjay Paul, President of Lokenath Sevashram Sangstha, who highlighted the organisation’s continued commitment to supporting deserving students unable to afford educational materials.
Speakers at the event emphasised the importance of such initiatives in ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to education, urging greater community support for similar welfare programmes benefiting underprivileged students.
The organisation said the annual distribution drive would continue in the coming years as well.
