Bishramganj:Residents of South Charilam Choumuhani village under Bishramganj Police Station continue to grapple with severe inconvenience caused by the foul stench and swarms of flies emanating from a poultry farm owned by a leader affiliated with a nationalist organisation, locals alleged on Wednesday.
According to villagers, the unhygienic conditions at the farm have made daily life unbearable, with the unpleasant odour and fly infestation affecting nearby households for an extended period. Residents claimed that despite repeated complaints, no permanent solution had been found, forcing them to live amid the nuisance for months.
Following mounting pressure from the local population, administrative officials visited the site on Wednesday to assess the situation firsthand. After inspecting the farm and speaking with both the villagers and the owner, the officials reportedly granted the poultry farm owner a further 15 days to take corrective measures and bring the situation under control.
However, residents expressed scepticism over the latest assurance, pointing out that similar deadlines had been given in the past without any tangible improvement. They warned that if the issue is not resolved within the stipulated time, they would be compelled to intensify their protest and demand stricter action from the administration.
