Kathaltali Case: Four Detained for Vandalising, Torching House of Deceased Samir Das

AGARTALA: Police have detained four persons in connection with the vandalism and arson of the house belonging to Samir Das, who died in the Kathaltali incident. The accused will be produced before the court today.

The detained persons have been identified as Raju Lashkar of Ranikhamar, Praban Das of Kathaltali Bazar, Sajal Das of Ranikhamar, and Lakshman Malakar of Madhuban, Kathaltali.

West Tripura District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak briefed the media on the overall developments in the case, confirming the detentions and the action taken so far by the investigating team.

The Kathaltali incident, which resulted in the death of Samir Das, had earlier triggered tension in the area, with reports of his house being vandalised and set on fire. Police have intensified their probe into the matter following the unrest.
