AGARTALA: The 12th edition of the ISKCON Rath Yatra was held on Thursday at Purbasha in Agartala, drawing large crowds of devotees for the annual chariot festival.
Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the event along with other dignitaries. Both the Governor and the Chief Minister took part in the ceremonial pulling of the chariot’s rope, marking the formal start of the procession.
The Rath Yatra, organised annually by ISKCON, commemorates the symbolic journey of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra and is among the prominent religious events celebrated in the city, drawing devotees and dignitaries alike.
The presence of the state’s top constitutional and executive functionaries underscored the significance of the event on Agartala’s cultural and religious calendar.
