Current Affairs: EEFI Regional Meeting Held in Agartala, Turnout Falls Short

AGARTALA: The Eastern Regional Meeting of the Electricity Employees Federation of India (EEFI) was held at the Chhatra Yuva Bhavan here, bringing together representatives from the power sector workforce across the region.

While delegations from seven states were originally expected to participate in the meeting, representatives from only four states were present on account of various reasons, organisers said.

The regional meeting, convened under the EEFI’s Eastern zone banner, is part of the federation’s ongoing efforts to coordinate employee welfare issues, service conditions, and organisational matters within the electricity sector across Northeast and Eastern India. Such gatherings typically serve as a platform for delegates to deliberate on common concerns affecting power sector employees and to chart out future courses of action at the regional and national levels.

Despite the reduced participation, attendees reportedly continued with the scheduled proceedings of the meeting at the Agartala venue.

Further details regarding the specific agenda items discussed, the states whose representatives attended, and the office-bearers present at the meeting were not immediately available.
