CPI(M) Takes to the Streets Against Price Rise, Left Workers Protest in Dharmanagar

Dharmanagar: Protesting the continuous rise in the prices of essential commodities, the Communist Party of India CPI(M) organized a protest rally and demonstration in Dharmanagar town on Tuesday. Party leaders, workers, and supporters participated in the rally, which began from the Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Office premises in the afternoon.The procession marched through several important roads of the town. During the rally, the streets echoed with slogans against inflation, unemployment, and the increasing cost of living faced by ordinary people. The protesters alleged that the unchecked rise in the prices of daily necessities has made it extremely difficult for middle-class and low-income families to manage their household expenses.Addressing the gathering after the programme, CPI(M) State Secretariat member Amitabha Datta said that common people are suffering immensely due to the rising prices of essential goods. He claimed that the government has failed to take effective measures to control market prices. He further warned that if immediate steps are not taken to curb inflation, the party will intensify and expand its movement in the coming days.Among those present at the programme were Abhijit De, Ratan Roy, and several other party leaders and workers from different levels of the organization. According to party sources, the protest in Dharmanagar was part of a statewide movement against the rising cost of essential commodities. CPI(M) leaders stated that the agitation would continue in the coming days in the interest of the common people.
