CPIM Krishnanagar Committee Stages Procession Over Infrastructure Woes, Price Rise

Agartala: The CPIM Krishnanagar Area Committee on Monday organised a procession in the Pragati School Road area of Agartala, raising its voice against the deteriorating infrastructure in the locality and the continuing rise in prices of petrol, diesel, and essential commodities.

During the procession, party leaders and supporters raised several allegations against the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), citing persistent drainage problems and the poor condition of roads in the area, which they claimed have remained unaddressed despite repeated complaints by residents.

Speaking to journalists after the procession, Krishnanagar Area Committee leader Nanigopal Dhar elaborated on the issues, asserting that the civic administration had failed to take adequate steps to resolve the long-standing infrastructural problems faced by residents of the area.

The CPIM leadership also reiterated its criticism of the rising cost of fuel and daily essentials, stating that the price escalation was adding to the burden on common people.

Party workers carried placards and raised slogans during the march, demanding immediate corrective action from the civic body and the government on the issues raised.

No response has yet been received from the Agartala Municipal Corporation regarding the allegations.
