Class 9 Students Await SST Textbooks Just Days Before Exams

CHARILAM: Class 9 students of the CBSE-run Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Charilam Vidya Jyoti School are facing an uncertain academic future after failing to receive their Social Science (SST) textbooks just a week before their Periodic Assessment (P1) examinations, scheduled to begin on July 13.

School Principal Manimoy Bhowmik, along with several Class 9 students, spoke to the media, attributing the delay to alleged lapses on the part of NCERT in supplying textbooks on time. Students said the non-availability of SST books had left them severely unprepared and anxious ahead of the upcoming exams.

The school and students have appealed to NCERT to expedite the dispatch of the pending textbooks at the earliest to prevent further disruption to the students’ preparation.

The issue has raised concerns among parents and educators about the wider impact of textbook distribution delays on CBSE students across the region.
