AMTALI: Two unidentified snatchers robbed a woman of a gold chain weighing approximately 4 bhori in an early morning incident under Amtali Police Station, sparking fresh concern over women’s safety in the area.
The victim, identified as Nita Bhowmik, was reportedly walking from Bank Chowmuhani towards Panchamukh when the two accused snatched the chain from her neck and fled the scene.
Following the incident, several women in the locality have alleged a growing sense of insecurity while moving through the area, particularly during early morning hours.
Police said the accused have been identified with the help of CCTV camera footage recovered from the vicinity, though their identities have not yet been officially disclosed. Amtali Police Station has launched an investigation into the incident and is working to trace and apprehend the culprits.
