CACHAR: Assam Police carried out another major anti-narcotics operation in Cachar district, seizing 2.2 kg of heroin and arresting one person in connection with the case, according to reports.
The operation is reportedly part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the Barak Valley region, which has emerged as a key transit point for narcotics smuggling in recent years.
Details regarding the exact location of the seizure, the identity of the accused, the police unit involved, and the estimated market value of the contraband have not yet been disclosed.
Authorities are said to be investigating the source and intended destination of the consignment, with further arrests not ruled out.
