SABROOM: Residents of Kanthalchhari village, located along the India-Bangladesh border in Ward No. 09 of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat, have begun preparations for this year’s Durga Puja, with celebrations now just 60 days away, organizers said.
The village, predominantly dependent on agriculture and known for its scenic greenery, has set a budget of Rs 1,40,000 for the festivities, continuing a tradition observed annually by the community, according to sources.
Puja organizers said the entire village comes together during the celebrations, with residents from all sections of the community participating in the festivities.
Due to the village’s proximity to the international border, organizers noted that celebrations on puja days must conclude by 10 PM each night, in line with border area protocols.
Preparations are currently underway ahead of the festival.
