AGARTALA: A blood donation camp was organised on Monday at Banamalipur Mahanam Angan here, marking the institution’s foundation day. The event was organised by the Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sevak Sangha and attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, officials of Mahanam Angan, ashram volunteers and other dignitaries were also present at the programme, which drew wide participation from the local community.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha described voluntary blood donation as a unique example of humanity, noting that a single donation can save a life during a crisis. He urged people from all sections of society to come forward for voluntary blood donation.
Organisers used the occasion to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary donation in addressing blood shortages, drawing an enthusiastic response from those present.
The Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sevak Sangha said the camp reflects its ongoing commitment to social service alongside its religious and spiritual activities, adding that such programmes are held periodically as part of its broader community outreach.
The event concluded with organisers calling it a fitting tribute to the spirit of service on the institution’s anniversary.
