Agartala: A blood donation camp was organised at the blood bank of IGM Hospital by the Sadar District Town Yuva Morcha to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the event, along with other dignitaries and Yuva Morcha members.
The camp saw participation from local residents and party workers, who came forward to donate blood as part of the initiative. Organisers said the programme was aimed at contributing to the blood bank’s reserves while marking the Prime Minister’s birthday with a socially meaningful gesture.
Such voluntary blood donation drives have increasingly become a common way for political organisations and civil society groups across the state to mark significant occasions, with the Yuva Morcha’s initiative adding to a series of similar camps held in recent times.
The Chief Minister’s presence lent added importance to the event, underscoring the emphasis placed on voluntary blood donation as a means of saving lives. Officials reiterated the need for continued public participation in such drives to ensure adequate blood supply at hospitals across the state.
