Bishalgarh: The Bishalgarh District Youth Congress on [9.09.2026] organised a six-hour mass sit-in demonstration (gana abosthan) here, pressing a three-point charter of demands related to the state’s recruitment process.
The protesters demanded that PRTC be reinstated as a mandatory requirement in the state’s recruitment process. They also called for the immediate appointment of candidates who have qualified TET 1 and TET 2 examinations.
The Youth Congress additionally alleged that the state’s recruitment policy was being misused, and demanded that the BJP-led state government put an immediate stop to such practices.
Youth Congress workers and supporters gathered in large numbers at the protest site, holding placards and raising slogans in support of their demands. Leaders addressing the gathering said the sit-in would continue until the government responded to their charter of demands.
The organisers warned that if the demands are not met, they would be forced to intensify their agitation in the coming days.
There was no immediate response from state government officials to the allegations raised during the protest.
