Battery Theft Accused Held in Dharmanagar

DHARMANAGAR: Police have arrested a man in connection with the theft of batteries from a shop in Dharmanagar town, officials said.

The accused has been identified as Yuktiram Reang, a resident of the Kachuchhara area. He was taken into custody following a complaint lodged by the shop owner regarding the theft, police said.

According to preliminary information, the batteries were reported missing from the shop, prompting the owner to alert local police. Acting on the complaint, officers launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the accused.

Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing, with further details being gathered to ascertain the full circumstances of the theft, including the value of the stolen goods and whether any accomplices were involved.
