Agartala: A solidarity meeting was held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here to mark the birth centenary of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, remembered as one of the foremost figures in the global struggle against imperialist aggression and hegemony.
The event was attended by the Cuban Ambassador, Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, and representatives of various political and social organisations. Speakers described Castro not merely as a revolutionary leader of Cuba, but as a symbol of the worldwide struggle for the rights and freedom of oppressed and exploited people.
