TELIAMURA: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest march in Teliamura on Tuesday, condemning an alleged attack on its functionaries and obstruction of the national flag hoisting at a school in Kadamtala, North Tripura, on Independence Day, sources said.
The march, organized by ABVP’s Teliamura Town unit, began at Chitrangada Kala Kendra ground and passed through several key roads before concluding at Ampi Chowmuhani. Participants carried national flags and raised slogans protesting the Kadamtala incident.
Addressing the media, ABVP Teliamura Town Secretary and Khowai district coordinator Biprajit Das alleged that CPI(M)-linked elements were behind the incident and demanded strict, exemplary punishment for those responsible. He asserted there would be no compromise on the dignity of the national flag.
The protest has triggered renewed political discussion in Teliamura amid the ongoing controversy over the Kadamtala incident.
