‘I Have to Buy My Dad That Lamborghini,’ Says Young Silicon Valley Techie

For 29-year-old techie Rishi Krishnan, life in Silicon Valley revolves around cutting-edge innovation and ambitious personal goals. Currently driving a Tesla Model 3 equipped with Full Self-Driving capabilities along San Francisco’s Bay Area highways, Rishi has his sights set on an even bigger milestone: purchasing a Lamborghini for his father back home in Hyderabad, India.

“That is the current must-work-for,” Rishi shared. While building his tech career amidst the bustling ecosystem of Google’s humanoid robotics projects and Zoox’s autonomous robotaxis, the young engineer maintains a strong connection to his roots. Though Silicon Valley’s entrepreneurial spirit beckons—and founding a startup remains a future goal—his immediate focus remains grounded in his work and fulfilling a personal promise to his family.

The Indian-origin techie was met at Sports Page, a popular Mountain View sports bar frequented by Google employees and affectionately known as the “Google Bar”. Connecting over Wednesday night karaoke and classic rock, Rishi reflects a common narrative among young global professionals in Silicon Valley: balancing high-tech careers in California while staying deeply connected to family back home. For now, Rishi continues to thrive in his role, working toward his eventual goal of entrepreneurship—and that special gift for his father.
