AIKS Marks 90th Anniversary with Farmers’ Felicitation and Protest Call in Bamutia

Bamutia: To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), a convention detailing the organization’s legacy and a felicitation program for farmers was held at the CPIM party office in Kali Bazar under the Bamutia Assembly constituency. Organized by the AIKS Mohanpur Divisional Committee, the event honored 16 prominent farmers from across the sub-division for their contributions to agriculture.

The gathering featured senior left leaders, including AIKS State Committee Secretary Pabitra Kar, Bamutia MLA Nayan Sarkar, CPIM Mohanpur Divisional Secretary Sudip Debnath, and Bamutia Regional Secretary Partha Das.

Addressing the session, the speakers focused heavily on the historical agrarian struggles led by the front and drew comparisons to modern challenges. The leadership launched a sharp critique against the ruling dispensation, alleging that the central PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits are systematically being stopped for many. They claimed that under the BJP-led state government and Prime Minister Modi’s administration at the Center, the farming community has faced severe economic distress due to rising input costs and lack of adequate state support, prompting a call to intensify rural agitations.
