AMBASSA: A horrific incident of domestic violence unfolded in the Kathal Bari area under the Ambassa subdivision on Sunday evening, when a man allegedly hacked his wife with a sharp weapon following a heated family dispute.
The victim, identified as Nasabati Reang, sustained critical injuries and was left drenched in blood. The accused husband, Pradip Reang, fled the scene immediately after the brutal assault and is currently absconding.
According to local sources, the couple had been experiencing strained relations, frequently engaging in domestic altercations. On Sunday evening, the argument escalated dramatically. In a fit of rage, Pradip reportedly grabbed a sharp household weapon and repeatedly struck his wife.
Upon hearing Nasabati’s screams, panicked neighbors rushed to the house and found her collapsed on the floor with severe bleeding wounds. They immediately rushed her to the nearby district hospital, where she is currently undergoing emergency medical treatment. Her condition is stated to be critical but stable.
Local police arrived at the spot shortly after being informed. A case has been registered against the accused, and law enforcement agencies have launched a massive manhunt to track down the fleeing husband.
