Agartala: A Tridev temple dedicated to Mahadev, Hanuman and Shani Dev was inaugurated on Friday in the Nutan Palli area of Krishnanagar, near Durga Chowmuhani, amid religious fervour and celebration.
Set up on the initiative of Ward No. 18 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, the temple stands in front of the ward office. It was inaugurated by West Tripura District Magistrate Bishal Kumar and Ward No. 18 Councillor Abhishek Dutta.
Residents had long cherished the dream of a permanent temple in the locality, and its realisation has brought joy across the neighbourhood. Locals credited Councillor Dutta’s initiative for making it possible.
According to Hindu belief, Mahadev symbolises power, welfare and spirituality, Hanuman devotion, courage and strength, and Shani Dev justice and the fruits of one’s actions. With all three deities enshrined at one site, the temple is expected to become an important place of worship for devout residents.
Locals also hope it will serve as a social and cultural meeting point, where people can gather for religious programmes, festivals and auspicious occasions, strengthening harmony and community bonds. Its location in front of the ward office will make it easily accessible.
Residents said the inauguration marks a new chapter for Nutan Palli, and expressed hope that religious and social activities in the area will expand around the temple in the coming days.
