AMARPUR: A road blockade staged by tribal women at Satchandrai Para on the Amarpur–Gandacherra road was withdrawn on 23.09.2026 following the intervention of the Leader of Opposition, according to sources.
The protest broke out after tribal women alleged they had not received compensation for rubber trees reportedly felled by the Forest Department in the area. Angered by the alleged non-payment, the women blocked the road, disrupting traffic on the route for several hours, sources said.
The Leader of Opposition subsequently intervened in the matter, following which the women agreed to call off the blockade, according to reports.
