JIRANIA: A mock poll was held on Tuesday ahead of Village Committee (VC) elections scheduled in Mandai Block, officials said.
Voting is set to take place on September 28 in 15 of the 26 Village Committees under Mandai Block, with the contest primarily between the NDA alliance and CPI(M) and independent candidates.
The mock poll exercise was conducted to test election preparedness ahead of the actual voting process. It was attended by the Jirania Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Mandai Block BDO-cum-Returning Officer Pujan Sen, along with other election staff associated with the process.
Officials said the exercise was aimed at ensuring a smooth, normal and impartial election, with all necessary arrangements being reviewed ahead of polling day.
