AGARTALA: Ahead of the Village Committee (VC) elections scheduled for September 28, four BJP candidates filed nomination papers for four VCs under Old Agartala’s D-Block, marking the start of electoral preparations in the area.
Nominations were submitted for Radhamohanpur, West Radhamohanpur, Bardhaman Thakurpara, and Dhupchhara Village Committees. Binoy Debbarma filed for Radhamohanpur VC, Soma Debbarma for West Radhamohanpur VC, Monak Debbarma for Dhupchhara VC, and Buddhalakshmi Debbarma for Bardhaman Thakurpara VC.
The four VCs fall under Khoyerpur Assembly constituency. Khoyerpur Mandal President Rajesh Bhowmik led the nomination filing process and was present alongside the candidates.
Also present on the occasion were West Tripura District Council Sabhadhipati Biswajit Sheel and Janajati Mandal President Bhabaranjan Debbarma. Party workers and supporters turned out in strength, with considerable enthusiasm observed among BJP cadres ahead of the polls.
With nominations now filed across all four Village Committees in the block, electoral activity is expected to intensify in the coming days as the September 28 polling date approaches.
