KAMALPUR: A wave of terror has gripped Kamalpur town following a series of suspected arson attacks, with the latest incident reducing a helpless widow’s house to ashes. Shockingly, this marks the second time the same property was targeted by miscreants within a mere four-day span.
The alarming incident occurred at Ghosh Para under the Mayachari Panchayat. According to local sources, the victim had barely begun processing the trauma of the first fire before perpetrators struck again, wiping out her remaining shelter and household belongings.
This case is part of a deeply disturbing trend. In the past month alone, four houses across the Kamalpur area have been systematically destroyed by arson. In two separate instances, miscreants returned to strike the exact same properties within a matter of days, pointing toward a deliberate and malicious pattern.
Fearing for their safety, traumatized residents have slammed the local law enforcement’s failure to deter the criminals. Demanding immediate nighttime police patrolling and a rigorous investigation into the recurring attacks, community members warned that the town is living on a knife-edge until the serial arsonists are caught.
