Manu: A passenger travelling towards Agartala died on board a train on Monday, forcing family members to disembark midway at Manu station along with the body, according to sources.
Details of the deceased, including identity and cause of death, could not be immediately confirmed. Railway authorities are said to have been alerted after the passenger’s condition deteriorated during the journey, though it remains unclear whether the death occurred before or after the train reached Manu station.
Family members accompanying the passenger were compelled to get off at the station along with the body, disrupting their onward journey. Fellow passengers and railway staff reportedly extended assistance during the process.
The body is learnt to have been handed over to the family or local authorities for further formalities, though official confirmation on this and the exact cause of death is awaited.
Railway officials at Manu station have not yet issued a statement on the incident.
