Governor, Minister Pay Tribute at Gandhi Statue on 80th Independence Day

Agartala: The 80th Independence Day was observed with due dignity and solemnity at the foot of the Mahatma Gandhi statue near the Circuit House here.

Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation, marking the occasion with reverence. The ceremony drew attendance from senior officials and citizens who gathered to commemorate eight decades of India’s independence.

Later, Minister Ratan Lal Nath offered floral tributes at Gandhi Ghat and the Shaheed Bedi, paying homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s freedom. The tributes at both locations were marked by a solemn atmosphere, reflecting the state’s collective respect for the freedom struggle.

The observance formed part of a series of Independence Day events held across Tripura, with officials reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of the nation’s founders.
