Agartala:The birth anniversary of Tripura’s first Chief Minister, late Sachindra Lal Singh, along with the death anniversary of veteran Congress tribal leader Jadumoni Tripura, was observed at the Tripura Pradesh Congress Bhawan.
Senior Congress leaders and party workers paid floral tributes to the departed leaders, recalling their contributions to the state’s political history and the tribal movement in Tripura. Sachindra Lal Singh, remembered as the architect of Tripura’s early political and administrative foundation, served as the state’s first Chief Minister and remains a revered figure in the party’s legacy.
Jadumoni Tripura, a prominent tribal leader associated with the Congress, was remembered for his role in championing the rights and welfare of the state’s tribal communities during his political career.
Party leaders reiterated their commitment to carrying forward the ideals and vision of both leaders, emphasising unity, social justice and inclusive development as core values inherited from their legacy.
The event saw participation from senior office-bearers of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, who used the occasion to reflect on the party’s historical roots in the state and its continuing engagement with tribal welfare issues.
