The Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) will submit a memorandum today to the Directorate of Medical Education and the Director of the Tribal Welfare Department, raising concerns over the alleged inclusion of ineligible candidates in the ST Merit List for NEET (UG) 2026 published by the Tripura Medical Counselling Committee (TRMCC).
According to TSF Vice President John Debbarma, the delegation will first submit the memorandum at the Directorate of Medical Education office at Birdurkarta Chowmuhani at 12:30 pm today, followed by a similar submission to the Directorate of Tribal Welfare Department.
The organisation has demanded the omission of candidates found ineligible for ST category benefits from the merit list, alleging discrepancies in the selection process that could deprive genuine Scheduled Tribe candidates of rightful medical seats under the reserved quota.
TSF has urged the authorities to review the list thoroughly and ensure that only eligible ST candidates are considered for admission, in order to safeguard the interests of the tribal student community aspiring for medical education in the state.
The organisation has appealed to the departments concerned to take immediate corrective action before the counselling process proceeds further, to prevent any injustice to eligible candidates.
