DHARMANAGAR: ASHA workers from across Dharmanagar sub-division submitted a deputation at the CDPO office here on Thursday afternoon, pressing a five-point charter of demands related to their working conditions and benefits.
A delegation of ASHA workers had gone to meet the CDPO in person, but in her absence, they handed over a memorandum to the ASHA Supervisor instead.
The workers’ demands include replacement of the current 4G mobile phones provided for official work with 5G handsets, introduction of a monthly mobile recharge allowance of ₹350, an increase in feeding bills in line with prevailing market rates, prompt disbursal of gratuity, and swift resolution of other long-pending dues and service-related grievances.
ASHA workers said they had appealed to the administration to implement their demands at the earliest, describing them as long-overdue and legitimate. They cautioned that if the authorities failed to act swiftly, they would be compelled to launch a larger agitation in the coming days.
The deputation adds to a series of recent protests by ASHA workers across the state over unresolved service conditions and remuneration issues.
