SUCI(C) Demands Punishment for Culprits in AGMC Girls’ Hostel Attack

Agartala: SUCI(C) (Socialist Unity Centre of India-Communist) has raised its voice in strong protest against a recent attack on the girls’ hostel of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC), demanding swift and stringent action against those responsible.

Party representatives submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, West Tripura District, urging the immediate arrest of the accused involved in the incident. The memorandum also called for exemplary punishment to be meted out to the culprits as a deterrent against such attacks in the future.

Alongside seeking action against the perpetrators, SUCI(C) demanded that concrete measures be put in place to ensure the safety and security of resident students at the hostel, stressing that female students must be able to live and study without fear.

Party leaders said the incident had caused deep concern among students and the wider public, and that any laxity in addressing the matter would embolden further such acts.

They urged the district administration and police to treat the case with urgency and ensure that justice is delivered without delay.
