Bishalgarh: The mysterious death of a housewife late last night in the Laltilla area of Bishalgarh has triggered widespread concern in the locality. The deceased has been identified as Sanka Nam, wife of Bikash Nam.
According to local sources, Sanka Nam, a mother of three, had reportedly been distressed for a long time due to her husband’s alleged substance dependence. Several residents claimed that the woman was not someone who would take her own life, raising suspicion over the circumstances of her death.
While the in-laws’ family maintained that she died by hanging, family members from her parental side disputed this, stating that no marks or signs indicating hanging or suicide were found on the body. The most serious allegation raised by her family was that the body had reportedly been kept lying in the courtyard for a considerable period before being taken for medical attention.
Members of the woman’s family later arrived, recovered the body, and rushed her to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
On receiving information, police from Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station rushed to the hospital. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of death, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
