Dealers’ Association Rejects Ration Shortage Claims, Blames Negligent Sub-Dealers

AGARTALA: The Sadar A.M.C. Committee of the Tripura Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Association has categorically rejected recent public complaints regarding shortages of essential commodities at ration shops, placing the blame squarely on the negligence of certain individual dealers.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, association leaders revealed that a section of dealers has been consistently failing to deposit their challan (clearance invoice) amounts within the stipulated deadlines. This administrative delay on the dealers’ part directly bottlenecks the supply chain, causing avoidable delays in food grains reaching their respective fair-price outlets.

The association fiercely defended the state administration, alleging that a vested interest group is intentionally spreading misleading rumors to tarnish the government’s image. “The state government is making every effort to ensure a seamless public distribution system. Currently, there is an absolute abundance and adequate stock of rice, pulses, and sugar available across all state ration shops,” leaders stated.

The press briefing was spearheaded by key executive members of the Sadar A.M.C. Committee, including Vice President Pradip Majumder, Assistant Secretary Sajal Kumar Deb, and Treasurer Anish Dey, who urged consumers not to fall prey to artificial panic.
