Agartala: Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tripura to provide Personal Accidental Insurance coverage of up to Rs 2.50 crore for all categories of state government employees, at zero premium cost to the beneficiaries.
Under the agreement, employees across all categories will be covered against accidental death and disability without having to pay any premium themselves, marking a significant welfare initiative for the state’s workforce.
Officials described the move as a major step towards ensuring financial security for government employees and their families in the event of unforeseen accidents. The coverage is expected to benefit a large section of the state’s employees, offering peace of mind at no additional financial burden.
Details regarding the effective date of the scheme, the enrolment process, and the specific terms of coverage under the MoU are expected to be announced shortly by TGB and the state government.
The initiative places Tripura among several states that have recently rolled out zero-premium accident insurance schemes for their employees.
