JAMPUIJALA: Tribal residents of Molsum Para, Bijoy Nandi, and Raipara areas under Ujan Pathalia Ghat ADC Village in the remote hilly terrain of Jampuijala block gathered on Tuesday to appeal to the Chief Minister for the construction of a paved road in their locality.
Speaking to the media, the villagers said that despite 79 years having passed since India’s independence, their village road remains unpaved, forcing residents to endure difficult travel conditions, particularly during the monsoon.
“Honourable Chief Minister, we want a paved road. Since independence, we have been waiting for our village road to be paved. Just because we live in a remote hilly area, does that mean our road will never be paved?” the residents said, voicing their long-standing frustration.
The villagers highlighted that the lack of proper road connectivity has severely affected daily life, including access to healthcare, education, and markets, for people living in the hilly terrain.
They urged the state government to take immediate steps towards road construction, emphasising that the demand has remained unmet for decades despite repeated appeals to successive administrations.
Local residents said they hope the Chief Minister will take note of their long-pending demand and ensure early action to improve connectivity in the area.
