AGARTALA: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s name has been restored on the nameplate of the State Homeopathic Hospital here, following swift administrative action on the directive of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
The move came shortly after a news report highlighted that Netaji’s name had gone missing from the hospital’s nameplate, sparking controversy among the public and various quarters. Taking the matter seriously, the Chief Minister directed authorities to reinstall a new nameplate reinstating Netaji’s name in front of the hospital.
The development has been welcomed by residents and various sections of society, who had earlier expressed concern and criticism over the omission of the freedom fighter’s name from the state institution.
Officials have not yet clarified how or when Netaji’s name was originally dropped from the nameplate, though the swift corrective action following media scrutiny has been noted as a positive administrative response.
