Body Found Under Shop Shed at Teliamura Railway Station

TELIAMURA: A body was recovered from the premises of Teliamura railway station on Saturday, sending shock through the local market area.

The deceased was identified as Molen Debbarma. According to reports, local shopkeepers at the railway station area, arriving as usual to open their shops on Saturday morning, spotted a body lying under the open shed of a shop within the station premises. On closer inspection, they identified it as Debbarma’s body.

The discovery triggered panic, with cries of alarm drawing a crowd of onlookers to the spot. Local residents immediately alerted Teliamura police station. On receiving the information, police personnel rushed to the scene and recovered the body, which was subsequently taken to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital.

The deceased’s brother, speaking to sources at the scene, said Molen Debbarma had reportedly remained in a habitually intoxicated state, and suggested that his death may have been linked to substance use. He clarified, however, that this was only his preliminary assessment.

Police and hospital sources said the exact cause of death could not be confirmed without a post-mortem examination. The body was moved to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital, where the post-mortem is expected to be conducted.

No case of foul play has been reported so far, and police are yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Investigations are said to be ongoing to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding Debbarma’s death.
